Should a company run a Telegram channel at all

A company channel is cheap to start and expensive to keep. Before opening one, it is worth knowing which of the two situations you are in, because the honest answer is often "not yet".

When a channel earns its keep

  • You have something to say weekly. Not announcements — observations from the work itself. If the only material is news about the company, there is no channel.
  • The purchase involves consideration. People who decide slowly need somewhere to keep watching you. For impulse purchases the channel does little.
  • Someone owns it. Not "marketing in general" — a person whose job includes it.

When it is an expensive habit

An abandoned channel is worse than no channel. A prospect who finds three posts, the last one eight months old, concludes something about the company that you would rather they did not.

The same applies to a channel that only sells. People unsubscribe from those quickly — why people unsubscribe.

What to do instead

If nobody will write weekly, the effort is better spent where conversations already happen: answering in topical chats and under other people's posts. That needs no content plan and produces enquiries directly.

See comment marketing and Telegram for local business.

If you do start one

Start with the plan, not the first post — see growing a channel from zero and a content plan that survives. Make it findable once someone arrives: channel navigation.

And do not buy traffic into it before you know it holds anyone: buying ads.

How Neurogram does this

Everything above is manual work that runs into the number of hours in a day. Neurogram does it on your own accounts and without you: it collects channels and audiences, writes comments and replies with a language model, and keeps limits and quiet hours so the accounts survive. See pricing or look at your case.
