What to do when Telegram restricts an account

Stop, wait, appeal — in that order. What helps, what makes it permanent, and when the account is not worth saving.

What to do when Telegram restricts an account

A restriction is not a ban. The account works, reads, joins and replies to existing conversations; it just cannot reach strangers. Most of them expire on their own — if you let them.

1. Stop

All outgoing activity from that account, immediately. Continuing to send while limited is the single most reliable way to convert a temporary restriction into a permanent one: each further attempt is evidence.

This includes automation you forgot about. An account under restriction that keeps commenting on schedule is still accumulating signals.

2. Confirm what happened

Ask the official support bot rather than guessing — checking for a spam block. Sometimes the answer includes an expiry date, which turns the whole problem into a calendar entry.

3. Wait

Time is the actual remedy for most restrictions. Leave the account logged in and behaving like a person: reading, occasionally reacting, nothing outgoing to strangers. Deleting and recreating it throws away the history that makes it survivable later.

4. Appeal, once

The support bot accepts an explanation. Write it plainly, in the account's language, without templates: what the account is used for and why the messages were not spam. Repeating the appeal daily does not accelerate anything and is itself a pattern.

What not to do

  • Do not change the proxy in a panic. A restricted account suddenly appearing from a new country looks worse, not better — testing a proxy.
  • Do not move the load to another account of the same batch. If the cause was the pattern, you are about to lose the second one too.
  • Do not delete the account. Deletion is irreversible and the restriction usually is not.

When to let it go

A repeatedly restricted account with no history is worth less than the time spent on it. Retire it, work out which part of the setup produced the restriction, and fix that first — otherwise the replacement follows the same path. See why Telegram restricts accounts.

How Neurogram does this

Everything above is manual work that runs into the number of hours in a day. Neurogram does it on your own accounts and without you: it collects channels and audiences, writes comments and replies with a language model, and keeps limits and quiet hours so the accounts survive. See pricing or look at your case.
