The unpleasant part of a Telegram restriction is that nobody tells you. Messages send, they show as delivered on your side, and they simply never reach people who have not written to you first. Work continues and produces nothing.
The direct way
Telegram runs an official support bot for exactly this. Writing to it returns a plain answer: the account is fine, or it is limited, and often until when. This is the only authoritative source — everything else is inference.
Note that the reply comes in the account's interface language, so a fleet of accounts set to different languages returns differently worded answers to the same question. Read the meaning, not the phrase.
Indirect signs
- Replies stop entirely. Not fewer replies — none, from anyone new. A sudden clean zero is the classic pattern.
- Old conversations still work. People who wrote to you first keep receiving; strangers do not. That asymmetry is the restriction's signature.
- Joining still works. Restrictions on messaging rarely touch channel membership, which is why the account looks healthy from the outside.
What not to conclude
Silence alone is not proof. A bad first message gets ignored by everyone too, and blaming the platform for that hides a fixable problem — see cold outreach. Check with the bot before rewriting anything.
After you know
