Selling goods in Telegram works differently from selling services: the buyer is looking for a thing rather than a specialist, and decides faster.
Where the buyers are
In interest-based chats rather than in shop channels. Owners of a dog breed, anglers, parents of schoolchildren, drivers of a particular car — that is where «what should I buy» and «where do I get one» get asked.
Selling without advertising
Answer the choice question rather than offering the product. «For this use the parameter that matters is X, and you can skip paying for Y» is an answer people read. A link is unnecessary: anyone interested will reach the profile.
Why chats rather than channels
In a product channel people read. In a chat they ask, and «what would you recommend» is a ready-made enquiry. Response is higher in chats and volume is lower — so you need many of them, collected by a parser rather than by hand.
What goes wrong most
- A link in the first message. Deleted by the filter and it damages the impression.
- Answering a day later. Product questions close within hours.
- A profile without a range. Someone looked and could not tell what you sell.
What to automate
Finding chats and the first reply. Availability, price and delivery questions are where automation is appropriate and saves most time. See the automation page and the parser page.
