A story in Telegram lasts a day and is seen by your subscribers and by anyone you mention in it. The second part matters more: a mention sends the person a notification, and they open the story even if they have never heard of you.
Why it works
The notification does not read like an advert. It reads like an event: somebody named you. Curiosity beats irritation almost every time — the person opens the story to find out what is going on, and your caption gets a few seconds.
The second difference from outreach: a mention is not a private message. It does not open a conversation and does not fall under the restriction Telegram applies to mass messaging strangers. Stories have their own limits, but they are separate.
What the mentioned person sees
- A notification with your name, the same kind friends produce.
- The story itself — an image or a video with a caption.
- A reply box. Their reply arrives as an ordinary direct message.
That last part is the point. The story does not sell anything; it opens a conversation. What to do with those replies is a separate question.
What this channel does not do
It does not replace outreach and does not produce the same volume. A story lives a day, a caption holds a limited number of mentions, and Telegram treats mass mentions of strangers as spam too — on a different scale. See how many stories a day.
And it does nothing at all with the wrong privacy setting: the mentioned person gets the notification and sees an empty screen. That is the most common reason people conclude it is broken — explained here.
Who it suits
Anyone whose offer fits one image and one line: a service, an event, an opening. If the product needs three paragraphs of explanation, a story is the wrong place — it gives seconds, not minutes.
How Neurogram does this
Everything above is manual work that runs into the number of hours in a day. Neurogram does it on your own accounts and without you: it collects channels and audiences, writes comments and replies with a language model, and keeps limits and quiet hours so the accounts survive.
