Assessing a niche before spending saves months. There are five checks, each doable by hand in an evening, and together they are enough to decide.
1. Are the discussions alive
Find ten channels in the topic and read the comments under recent posts. If it is silent, commenting will not work there — not because the tool is bad, but because nobody is present to see you.
2. What a customer is worth
Estimate what one customer brings in this niche. Where the order value is a few dollars, cold traffic almost never clears: contact cost has a floor.
3. Who is already there
Read the comments. If every discussion holds five identical pitches, the niche is burnt and yours becomes the sixth. An empty discussion under a live channel is the opposite — a good sign.
4. How seasonal is it
Some niches live in bursts: exams, holidays, tax deadlines. Enter them early and compute payback over a year rather than a month, or the dead-season numbers will scare you for no reason.
5. Can you say anything useful in two lines
The most underrated check. If nothing useful fits in two lines, your comments will be filler, and filler does not convert. Niches where you have genuine expertise always respond better — that is a conversion fact, not a motivational one.
Reading the result
Four out of five passed means it is worth trying on one account. If the first or second failed, no amount of configuration will help: either nobody sees you or the arithmetic does not close. Building the first channel list is on the parser page.
