There is no single best proxy for Telegram, only one that fits how the account is used. When you run several accounts, a proxy solves exactly one problem: keeping them from being associated with each other. Everything else follows from that.
Why one IP for everything is bad
Ten accounts reaching the network from one address look, to Telegram, like ten accounts belonging to one person. That is not forbidden in itself, but it changes the consequences: when one attracts complaints, the rest fall under suspicion.
The outcome is predictable — instead of losing one account you lose the whole arrangement, and usually at the moment it started producing results.
Types
Datacentre
Cheap, fast, stable. The downside is that datacentre ranges are recognisable, and such addresses draw more suspicion on average. Suitable for low-load tasks.
Mobile
Carrier IPs. The most trusted, because live people normally sit behind them — and the most expensive. A particular feature: the address changes, and that is normal for a mobile network rather than a sign of substitution.
Residential
Home ISP addresses. A middle option on price and trust. Origin matters here: some cheap residential networks are assembled questionably, and the quality of those addresses is unpredictable.
What matters more than the type
One account, one proxy
The rule that buys you more than any choice between types. Economising here is the most expensive economy in the whole setup.
Matching the number's country
A number from one country and permanent access from another is an inconsistency that adds to the rest. Rarely fatal alone, but there is no reason to add it.
Separately: an account whose IP country changes day to day looks worse than one on a consistently "wrong" but stable address.
Stability
A proxy that drops mid-session causes disconnects and reconnections from other addresses. That is exactly the noise you are avoiding.
Protocol
Telegram works over SOCKS5 and over MTProto. SOCKS5 is universal and supported by everything you will use. There is no practical difference in risk between them — the quality of the address matters more.
Common mistakes
- Free proxies. Shared addresses that hundreds of spammers have already passed through. Worse than no proxy.
- A rotating pool per account. An IP that changes every request is behaviour no ordinary user exhibits.
- "It connects, so it is fine." A proxy can work and still carry a history of somebody else's violations. Changing the address is the first thing to try when an account behaves strangely.
The cost in the arrangement
Proxies are a recurring cost proportional to the number of accounts. Count it from the start: twenty accounts on mobile proxies costs noticeably more than it appears at the outset, and sometimes fewer accounts with a gentler load works out better.
