There are two routes to a venue list, and they produce different things.
By keywords
You supply the words of your topic and search returns channels and chats named that way. Fast, produces volume, covers the niche in breadth.
The drawback is accuracy. Search matches names rather than content, so dead channels and same-named venues from other topics come along. Checking the result is unavoidable.
By competitors
You take a channel where your audience already sits and collect the people who comment there. Accuracy is higher: these people showed interest through an action, not a subscription.
The drawback is volume. One channel yields as many active people as it has, and scaling means more sources.
When to use which
- Starting in a new niche — keywords: you need to see what exists.
- You already know the competitors — their audience: a shorter, better list.
- You need volume for a large fleet — keywords, or you will run out of venues.
Combining them
Keywords first, to map the niche and see who leads it. Then those leaders, to collect the active audience. The first answers «where», the second «who». Both live on the parser page.
